HIT-HY 170 use in software

Kia Ora,

Why does your product Hit-HY 170 not come up as an epoxy option through the online Profis software?

From looking at the technical spec. it is C2 approved seismic.

It appears half the price of the Hit 200-R epoxy, so contractors prefer to use.

Hello Christo,

Thank you for your inquiry and for providing feedback.

I would like to clarify that HY170 is not our ultimate epoxy. It does not have seismic C1 approvals and has only been tested and approved for C2 in M12 and M16 sizes. This epoxy is specifically designed for anchoring into masonry applications. When comparing its capacities to those of HY200 or RE500, HY170 has less than half the capacity for the same sizes. For all anchor designs in New Zealand, we strongly recommend using the C2-rated anchors for the highest seismic performance. Our Profis Engineering Suite is designed to provide the best-in-class performance for the design of all ultimate anchors.

We appreciate your feedback and will discuss the possibility of incorporating HY170 into the PE. In the meantime, if you require a design utilizing HY170, please feel free to reach out to us at NZengineers@hilti.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
